get a laser pointer, write your name pretty fast on a wall (in a dark room) and shoot the same in extended exposure (bulb mode); voila! you get a red-colored neon lamp like glowing thingy with your name on it! Ok, maybe I'm not THAT crazy... Or maybe I am. Maybe I should try it out.
Looks like colored lights shot with a shaky camera with long exposure.

Bull's eye, Max, a firecracker it is. But it wasn't just the extended exposure. An extremely shaky camera was the cause for that effect, like JJ said.

Hmmm... Considering that I've never seen fairy lights, I don't think I'll be able to recognize them.
